Wedding professionals get to attend great events all the time; usually working, creating, designing, capturing amazing moments and details.

But when we party, we like to party like ROCK STARS, we love great food, we don’t miss a detail, we expect great service, we love to dance, experiment with fun, creative cocktails and want to be entertained.

So, recently we got the opportunity to do just that – as a 7 time winner of the knot Best of Weddings we were asked to plan their annual “Cocktail and Connections” event for Philadelphia Wedding Professionals… this was actually our third time to be tapped for this event.

As with many things the starting point was location, location, location – we wanted someplace, interesting, fairly centrally located, with great food and great service. We wanted something new and exciting. .. Because most of us have ‘seen it all’

We tapped the team at the new ‘Vista at Top of the Tower’, this great venue had recently undergone a transformation – knocking out walls, expanding their ballroom to expose panoramic views of the city and expand their capacity to accommodate larger weddings and events. Having done several weddings and event there we knew their amazing team, loved their food and creativity and were confident in their level of service.

Theming this fun industry event was easy, when you are in a venue with great architecture, AMAZING views and a wonder, creative chef – you take your cues from them. We invited their chef to ‘get creative’; and he came up with a wonderful Latin themed menu – a journey through Filipino, South and Central American foods, wrapping up with a taste of Mexico.

So Latin it was – from the food we went to great pops of color in the linen, the flowers and décor by our team at Eventricity; designed to accent but not dominate the views of the city which were our focal point. Our partners at Eventions Productions lighting brilliantly took us from bright light, daytime accents to HUGE pops of color accenting the city skyline at night.

Throwing in some Latin music, impromptu Salsa lessons and demonstrations by Society Hill Dance Academy and a few Latin inspired cocktails and you have a party. We allowed a quieter space for guests to network and take in the views of the city,  some 'mini-makeovers by Bella Angel, a fun Photobooth by Shutterbooth Philadelphia and desserts by chef Van at Van Earls Cakes and you’ve got a party.

Funny thing about wedding professionals; as much as we love a good party – we all need to know what everything is…so we tapped our good friends at Little Woman Designs to design menu cards and a collateral piece sharing the names and contact information of all of the professionals who made the event such as success. WE LOVE the way they mimicked the architecture of the tall narrow windows and wood tones of Top of the Tower in their design!

We all had a blast and partied like ROCKSTARS!

Special thanks to David Zaveloff of David Zaveloff Photography for capturing his event and sharing his images and to Darrell Aubert of Aubert Films for his great film trailer!
