I love when I'm a guest at a wedding and as I check in to the hotel I am handed an out of town bag prepared by the bride and groom. It's such a thoughtful way to make a first impression and the bags can be customized to the theme of the wedding (i.e. beach with flip flops and suntan lotion) or customized to the location of the wedding.

I'm helping a client of mine work on her out-of-town bags and I came across these really cute city totes by Gooseberry Press.  Each bag is customized to the city that the wedding is being held in.  What's great about these is that they could be used by the guest again for things around the house or for grocery shopping.

We are planning to fill the bags with some popular philly favorites like Tastycakes, some John and Kira's Chocolates, Herr's Potato Chips and Peanut Chews but we'll also fill them with a bottle of water, a map of the area, some activities guests can partake in while in town, a list of some great local restaurants, a personal note from the bride and groom, and a schedule of wedding day events.

What local items do you include in your out-of-town bags for your city?
