I’m ‘bout to go there – unfortunately posting this on the blog may be preaching to the choir …

I’ve had some really interesting calls lately, all circling around the same thing….Wedding Day Service.

In our industry, some wedding planners call it Wedding Day Direction and too many people assume it’s just for that, ‘the wedding day’…

Think of it like this – let me blind fold you, take you somewhere, drop you in a room with 200 people you don’t know – all dancing, drinking and having fun…

Now fix EVERYTHING that they throw at you…

We’ve had several brides who have called {truly when the groom calls it’s no better} who want us to “just show up for a couple hours”, “we’ve already confirmed everything”…or better still – “we’re REALLY organized, we really don’t need your team, can we have just one planner?”

Please let me break this down for you –

I don’t know what you do for a living, but could you imagine going into another company who does whatever it is you do, on the most important day for that company and be expected to make it work?

All weddings are different; each has their own personality, family drama and a bunch of moving parts we like to know about in advance….

There are times couples have hired wedding professionals we’ve never worked with {as hard as we try we honestly don’t know everyone} – and please don’t get me started on when we throw in aunts, uncles and ‘friends’ who are baking cakes, being the DJ or photographing the wedding…

We would love to talk to these people and find out what you’ve hired them to do, review their contract to know what they are contracted to do; as well as have an emergency contact number on the day of the wedding…

WE also NEVER send just one staff member – we’ve done weddings of 22 and 25 guests and STILL sent two staff… there are too many directions to turn on the wedding day…

If you’re working with a planner flying solo, what is their backup plan? If they’re with you getting ready, who is at the ceremony site checking on set up?

We like to stay one step ahead of where the guests are to check on all the details before they get into that space…

Don’t go into your wedding day blindfolded!

You’ve invested a lot of time, energy, emotion and money into planning your wedding day…why leave the execution to chance…
