Weddings are emotional business; even business decisions in weddings can be driven by emotion…

We work with couples all the time who want to ‘capture the day as it happens’ they don’t want pictures that are too posed, they want someone to sit back, like a fly on the wall, and just capture moments as they happen.

Unfortunately, because a lot of our client’s life experiences form their perceptions, ‘video’ gets pushed to the bottom of the list or sometimes off the list completely…

I’ve had the same experience as well – {to all of my friends who are videographers / film makers reading this, please stop cringing; this goes somewhere…}

Growing up in lower Bucks County with Jewish family and friends…I’ve experienced what we affectionately called; “1980’s, Northeast Philly, Bar Mitzvah video”….

YOU’VE ALL SEEN IT…. HUGE camera, BIG light, tripod on wheels, in the way and in your face…”Say something to Alexis!” Video really got a bad rap… and part of it was well deserved….

The good news is ….for the most part, IT’S CHANGED A LOT…Small cameras, low light, totally documentary and NOT in your face…

While I LOVE the photographers we work with and the beautiful moments they capture….

Having lost both of my parents and a number of close friends, I would give nearly anything to see them , exactly as I remember them, dancing, loving, talking and having a great time….not just captured in one single frame…

I love this film clip from Dave Williams and the team at CinemaCake Filmmakers …I saw it recently and couldn’t imagine how still photography alone could have captured this story and the emotions brought out….

This AMAZING clip truly captured the essence of this couple, their friends and the emotion of the day…

It’s hard to believe this couple almost chose NOT to invest in documenting their day…
