I am so excited that we are only 11 months away from our wedding…even though we have LOTS of things to do still!
Rich and I have not been able to plan that much due to the guidelines that Disney Fairytale Weddings has in place, however we are doing as much as we can to prepare our guests {and ourselves} for our upcoming nuptials.
Since we are having a destination wedding we thought that it was important to share our wedding date and location with our guests as soon as possible. We knew we needed to send save-the-dates to our guests so that they would have ample time to prepare and save money to attend our Walt Disney World Wedding!
I wanted our save-the-dates to be fun and “destination-y”…So I began my search on the internet and in wedding magazines for inspiration. I saw a lot of cute ideas like boarding passes and miniature suitcases but I wanted something that our guests could actually use when traveling to our wedding…and that is how I decided on…LUGGAGE TAGS!
Once again being a wedding planner has yet another benefit…I work with an AMAZING graphic designer, Christina Gargano-Lupo, and thankfully she offered to help us out and design anything we need! I had a conversation with Christina about my plans and we decided that I would assemble them and she would create a custom logo that we could use for our luggage tags.
I headed to the internet {again} looking for the components of the luggage tags. I found some great 100% recycled envelopes on envelopemall.com and luggage tags with straps on another website. I placed the orders and waited for the items to arrive.
Once I received the items I measured them and began working with Christina to create our logo for the tags. While she was working on those I took inspiration from Martha Stewart and made labels for the envelopes…which matched our King and Queen of Hearts stamps perfectly and I didn’t even plan it!
I always loved the idea of envelope liners and knew I needed to have one…so I made these. Notice anything?!
I just had to sneak in a “hidden Mickey!”
Next step…I wrote a letter to include in our save-the-date package because I knew everyone might not be interested in coming to a Disney Wedding {however something might be wrong with them :)} and we wanted to let all of our 211 invited guests know that we understood if they were unable to make it no matter what the reason! We just wanted our friends and family to be happy for us and our decision to wed.
By this time Christina sent me the AMAZING logo that I just LOVED and bam…our luggage tags were born!!!
Next I made a save-the-date card that included an informal RSVP {so I had a guest count prior to our Disney planning session}. I used a different version of Christina’s logo on the front of the card because I loved it so much!
I placed everything in the labeled and lined envelopes…and prepared them for their send-off!
Our little beauties were all ready…so they buckled up for safety!
We loved them, and hoped our guests did too!
Our guests have received them and replied…we are expecting 106 guests to our destination wedding!
