Katie and Matt’s wedding in late August was just too cool on so many levels….

Matt is from Virginia (suburban DC), Katie from Chester County (suburban Philly) – originally when they hired me they were looking at Philadelphia venues, hired me sight unseen, started the planning process and then met me for the first time almost 6 month later after moving the wedding location to Oxon Hill, Maryland at National Harbor – near DC….

OH ya, Matt and Katie live and work in Dubai, United Arab Emirates….now that’s long distance…we worked over internet, one or two visits and a couple very long distance calls…

I’m stunned at the team we assembled and the details they inspired…

So the theme – The Jefferson Memorial kept popping up in discussion, then in a request for photos after the ceremony

….and then in the groom’s cake…

So I finally had to ask –

Matt is a native Virginian who grew up just in the shadow of DC so the connection begins there, he attended Thomas Jefferson High School; then, he attended University of Virginia which Thomas Jefferson founded. Next, Matt and I met at a company who actually uses the Jefferson memorial as their logo. Just out of curiosity on our first date (in DC) he asked me if I had a favorite memorial to which I replied “the Jefferson”. Finally, Matt proposed on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial the day after Thanksgiving in 2007 after sending me on a DC scavenger hunt.

The wedding had strikingly beautiful details from the vintage Rolls Royce, historic mansion, beautiful flowers in red and celery to the incredible fireworks display by Fireworks Concepts

And in case you can’t tell from the images the couple was as sweet and detailed as they are stunningly attractive…

This was definitely one for the books…
