Several weeks ago I got to spend the night at The Hilton Inn at Penn

In full disclosure and in keeping with the new Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on blogging and social media…

a) one must disclose if you are paid to blog about a product or service-

We don’t blog for profit – we blog about mostly local products and services because we think they are interest to our brides and other readers – we don’t accept payment for a product.

b) One must also disclose if they have been provided a product or service to review

This occasionally happens – someone will send us a sample of a product in hope that we refer our brides to use it, or that we’ll share how much we liked it (if we do), we’ve been asked to review a new wedding book and they send us a copy… or we attend an event at a new facility and share that…

We always tell readers if someone sent us something…

OK enough of the legal mumbo jumbo…

A year ago I went to a networking event for the Association of Bridal Consultants hosted at the Inn at Penn… Michelle Kehoe their Catering Sales Manager is awesome – they arranged a progressive cocktail reception moving through a guest room, a suite and a pubic lounge area before an AMAZING dinner.

At the end of the night we each got a goodie back with Hilton’s signature cookies in it… I almost missed the other goodie- a gift certificate for a Bed and Breakfast package, dinner at Penne, and breakfast at the University Club – it was due to expire and I finally got to use it…

Everything from valet parking, to check out was first class… they were very friendly and efficient, the suite was insanely big for two of us for one night – I felt odd checking in with one little overnight bag…

{FYI, I went undercover = No Red Shirt!}

Dinner at Penne ROCKED as they make fresh pasta right in front of guests – great Cioppino, our seasonal pasta (gnocchi) and risotto were excellent and probably some of the best Tiramisu I have ever had…and they have a space for small private parties.

It was great to experience the hotel as a guest after having enjoyed their event spaces and food…

Definitely a great venue if you are looking for a boutique wedding experience, and if you’re a Penn Alum you should ask about some special pricing they offer…
