I’m sure you’ve seen this wedding processional video from Minnesota ….
It’s on YouTube with over a million hits, it’s all over Facebook and I saw it three times this morning on our local morning news show…..
IT’S CUTE!
I’m all for helping couples personalize their wedding- it should be a day that truly reflects you, your personality and your family….
I’ve worked with a couple who did a Persian Muslim ceremony and the next day did another ceremony in an Episcopal church, incorporated a reading from the Koran, Jewish elements including breaking of a glass in a mostly Christian wedding ceremony.
We’re currently planning a wedding where we have a one hour blended Indian (Hindu) and Jewish ceremony with both a priest and rabbi – incorporating major traditions of both religions’ wedding ceremonies…
I’ve even got a wedding with the minister is co officiating with a rabbi AND embraces having the ceremony under a chuppah- in his church….
HOWEVER – I’m not sure I work with that many officiants who would embrace the entire bridal party dancing, walking on their hands and cart wheeling down the aisle of the church …
If this video were shot in a hotel ballroom ceremony, in a park or someone’s backyard…YA, ABSOLUTELY…
So weigh in… do you think many of the officiants who married you, who you work with (or you if you officiate!) would embrace this in a church or synagogue?
