Tuxedos and gowns and fittings OH MY!

Over the weekend Lisa and Victor went to see two great wedding profesionals-

Mary Helen, owner of Suky – Mary Helen may have had the toughest task in this whole process – Lisa is 5’1″ and in order to have her fitted for a gown and have the alterations done for me to pick up by Thursday – they had to HUSTLE

Knowing their gowns, what designs would compliment her figure and not be too detailed along the hem (taking appliques, beading or lace off the bottom of the hem is VERY time consuming!) … was the key to getting things rolling.

Mary Helen chose gowns by designers:

Stephen Yearick – a strapless fully beaded bodice with scallop detail full taffeta ball skirt with pick-up.

Ines DiSanto – a one shoulder taffeta ballgown with floral appliqués on one side of the skirt and the one shoulder.

Pronovias -a strapless drop waist gown with beaded lace detail cathedral train with lace appliqués. (the one Lisa picked)

In addition to the gown Suky also provided Lisa with a 3 tier waterfall veil and slingback shoes with rhinestone detail.

They were off to see my good friend Jim Buchakjian at Sagets Formal Wear ( 2 time winner of myfoxphilly Hot List for tuxedos!)

Jimmy is the most patient man I know – most guys are not crazy about going through a fitting and having their fiance there trying to pick out something that looks great on him…. Jimmy makes it easy.

I work with Jimmy A LOT as he know’s his stuff, makes the process easy for guys (especially from out of town) and offers a great “day of” service to get the guys dressed and ready (and he brings “spares” so if the guys turned in the wrong measurements he can fix them up on the spot!).

NOT only did he hook Victor up with a smashing tux… he also provided a tuxedo for the best man!

Thanks guys…

Victor and Lisa will look AMAZING on their big day!
