Feeling a little under the weather the past few days I finally took a little 'down time"…
I curled up last night with the fall 2007 Martha Stewart Weddings
I love the detail shots of tablescapes with all the little details which really personalize your wedding…
And they show color palates that challenge what brides might normally select… I think emerald and aqua is now one of my favorites.
Obviously, the tips on wedding cakes by the incredible Sylvia Weinstock gave brides (and some bakers) some great tips.
I love Sylvia! Someone remind me later to tell you about lunch at the Four Seasons Philadelphia- (cause that's an entire post on its own)
But, the one piece in MSW, which absolutely blew me away, was "50 Tips for Planning the Perfect Party"- by Lauren Lipton.
I had the pleasure of being interviewed by her several years ago for a piece she did in the WSJ on Copy Cat Brides….
Lauren's piece hit a MAJOR home run- there were such good practical tips- things I have said time and time again to clients…someone finally put it in writing.
If you haven't read it, read it! There were a lot of things in there that were great reality checks not only for brides, but for planners as well!
The only thing that might top that article is the following quote from the 'one thing I learned" column:
"A good Wedding Planner can make all the difference in the world. It rained at our wedding, but it was still perfect because our planner was able to reinterpret all our outdoor ideas inside the tent"
Thanks Rose! Great Quote…
