One of the easiest (and more cost effective ways) to go Green is to incorporate local, seasonal flowers into your wedding.
The cost on the environment to ship in flowers from all over the world is immense… reducing it even a little bit helps a lot.
Recently I had a chance to work with two great designers – Joyce Murphy and Suesan Klein of Murphy and Klein Floral Studio.
Their studio is just a mile or so from my old stomping grounds The Great American Gril is located in Upper Bucks County.
Located in an old barn, salvaged and relocated for use as their design studio, office and work area is surrounded by a wide variety of flowering bushes and cut flower gardens.
Joyce Murphy is a third generation professional following the path of her father and grandfather who were wholesale flower farmers in Bucks County. Her mother was also a floral designer.
Suesan Klein is Joyce's niece and spent many days on the flower farm while growing up. The two of them have merged together to form Murphy & Klein Floral Studio.
Here are some of the photographk they took of their work while setting up for Laura and Chad's wedding –
Additional photos of this wedding, held a New Hope's Holly Hedge Estate – by photographer Chris Kendig can be seen in my Recent Weddings gallery.
