I recently began reading a blog –The Brides Guide: Ideas from the Editors of Martha Stewart Weddings – it features editor Darcy Miller whose work and writing I admire…
Â
But this week there were a series of post which curled my toes…
Â
I have worked with some brides who are non traditional and chose not to wear “wedding gownsâ€, or chose not to wear one of the 45 currently popular shades of white…..
Â
I’m cool with that…
Â
But, I am still a firm believer that the option to wear white – is EXCLUSIVELY that of the bride!
Â
It’s not an option for guests, most people feel that even ivory for MOB or MOG walks a very fine line of good taste even if the bride is wearing WHITE WHITE!
Â
Not only did Darcy, chose against the advice of co workers to wear ivory to a wedding, she decided to press on and ‘research†the topic.
Â
After not finding enough hard, fast –No’s and more of “if you do you have to be ready for heavy scrutiny†she still opted to wear ivory.
Â
Blogging about it definitely fanned the flames as many blog readers with little class, or having no fear as they hid behind screen names called her everything in the book…
Â
It was definitely good media – it’s when people stop talking about you that you have to worry.
Â
Sorry Darcy, love the blog, hate the dress!
