Making eco friendly decisions about your businesses and about your wedding is becoming easier than you think…
Â
Â
Some of the things I do everyday in my business and things we do at home are all easy eco friendly choices…
Â
Â
Using 100% post consumer recycled paper products, recycling ink cartridges and eliminating many of my paper files is a good start…
Â
Â
I’ve urged wedding professionals NOT to send me extra brochures and business cards as I access nearly everything electronically for clients and as often as files update…their websites are a better resource for me and most clients.
Â
Â
I’m actually adding a new header “Green Weddings†to the BLOG and will continue to post eco friendly ideas for weddings….
Â
Â
Here’s a few you’re probably doing already without knowing it….
Â
Â
Booking guest rooms, ceremony and reception either in the same site, or within walking distance of each other cuts down substantially on carbon emissions from transporting large numbers of guests.
Â
Â
Candle light – candle light, especially beeswax and soy candles not only adds to the atmosphere, but cuts the use of electricity substantially – as do venues that utilize natural light.
Â
Â
Go Local – utilizing local products, whether food or locally produced items cuts down on shipping…not only the energy used to ship but in many cases packaging materials.
Â
Â
While organic foods might be a great choice for the environment…sometimes the fossil fuels used for shipping foods long distances over ride the benefits of going organic…
Â
Â
Digital photography… surprise… digital images are better for the environment… less paper, fewer chemicals…especially if your photographer offers on line proofing…
Â
Â
And the list goes on….Keep checking back for new ideas…
