People seem to use the term “Blessed’ rather loosely…

Yes, we all have blessings in our lives every day….I know I do…

But I can honestly say I have been blessed after this year’s Let Them Eat Cake benefit for City of Hope National Cancer Center…

I know it’s really cool to have 23 professional entries, and 7 students who competed…. And have great sponsors like Korbel, Philadelphia Magazines Elegant Wedding, and Air France…

An to have great friends and fellow wedding professionals who donated their time and talent…Majestic Images, Janis Productions, Brandywine Valley Talent, Midnight Hour, Eventricity, the Wedding Podcast Network and beautifulsweets.com…and a dozen others…

Even having to dozen or so fellow wedding consultants from The Association of Bridal Consultants who helped is just blowing me away…

I even thought raising over $40,000.00 at an event named in honor of my mother Lois was a good as it gets…

Until I had a woman come up to me and thank me… as of Thursday, she will be an eight year cancer survivor;  one of the participants has a dear friend who is now battling cancer, and still another whose mother has battled cancer for three years…

I founded this event to honor my mom, and to show the support of the wedding industry against a disease which affects many of our brides, their moms and their families…

And I ended up being the one who is blessed…

I keep you all in my prayers, and God willing we’ll see you all there next year…
