You can tell when spring is nearly here…or you can at least begin to feel like it’s nearly here.
Â
The first week in March is always the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s – Philadelphia Flower Show.
Â
There are always TONS of exhibits – landscape, party and event display, floral design by garden clubs, as well as plant specimen competitions.
Â
“C†and I took a half day this week and headed into town – while we both really enjoy the landscape displays and get lots of new design ideas for the yard…I go for the party and event display.
Â
Each year several of the design companies I work with throughout the year on weddings enter… their work is just amazing
Â
This year’s theme for the flower show was Legends of Ireland – lots of green, lots of great stone statuary, and in many cases people incorporating very rustic elements and landscape into their displays.
Â
Below are several examples of work by floral designers:
Â
Robertson’s Flowers – incorporated elements of landscape, a country cottage and a party into one display.  Â
Â
Â
Jamie Rothstein Floral Design– “The Rainbow†– most original design concept.      Â
Â
Â
Â
Lambsback Floral Decorators – A fun floating party –“Pretty in Pinkâ€Â   Â
Â
Â
Michael Bruce Florist – A rustic outdoor garden event…Verdant Haven – using a wide selection of plants and cut flowers.Â
Already I can’t wait for next year!
