Last night I attended a local meeting of ISES – International Special Events Society – it’s one of several local educational/industry related organizations I either belong to or attend meeting of frequently.

Continuing education, staying current on trends and learning how to set trends is REALLY important in this industry… you are only as good as your last event.

Last nights event was help downtown at The Union League- who did an amazing job with hosting the event- food and service were great.

The company was really cool too – at my table alone were the director of catering from The Ritz Carlton- Philadelphia, Phil Kramer- Phil Kramer Photography, Dave and Sheryl Williams from DVideography, Melissa Brannon –River Crest Golf Club… and a dear friend who is also a wedding consultant. (Hi Lynda!)

There were over 225 industry professional all gathered to hear one man speak – David Tutera – David was amazing!

He was warm, genuine and honest – he shared experiences, ideas, business practices and spoke openly about karma and how we as professionals treat each other and the people we work with.

A great presentation- wonderful photos from his new book – BIG BIRTHDAYS – which was appropriate as he was there for the 20th birthday of ISES, founded in Philadelphia-

David took time to sign copied of his book and to chat with everyone there…

A truly nice guy.

He even took time to do a picture with Scott Barnes of Feastivities Catered Events and myself…
